Donald Trump begins attacking Texas Governor Greg Abbott as it all falls apart for him
Donald Trump is now publicly attacking Texas Governor Greg Abbott for refusing to defend Trump pal Ken Paxton. We’re getting to that point where larger numbers of Republican politicians are selfishly starting to move on from Trump because they know he’s toast anyway, and all he can do is whine.
The big story here is that Republican politicians are now simply moving on from Trump, regardless of how much he whines about it or threatens them. Greg Abbott wasn’t willing to defend Paxton just to stay on Trump’s good side. Texas House Republicans weren’t willing to keep Paxton in office just to stay on Trump’s good side. And U.S. House Republicans weren’t willing to default on the economy, even after Trump insisted they do it. Republicans just aren’t taking Trump seriously anymore. They know it’s all over for him.
