New York Supreme Court rules for Letitia James and against Donald Trump
As if Donald Trump needed more bad legal news, now he’s got it. Even after Trump was indicted for thirty-four felonies in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s criminal investigation, he still has to worry about New York Attorney General Letitia James’ separate but related civil investigation into the Trump Organization. And the news on that front just got worse for Donald Trump.
While Letitia James has numerous Trump tax returns, she doesn’t have all of them. An accounting firm has been refusing to hand over certain tax documents, but now the New York Supreme Court has ordered that firm to immediately do so. There’s no getting around this kind of ruling, so James will now get what she’s been seeking.
Letitia James is seeking a quarter billion dollars in penalties for the Trump Organization, which would effectively put it out of business, and take assets away from Donald Trump in order to settle the debt.
